Anambra: Gov. Willie Obiano Promises More Supports To Farmers, Declares Farming Season Open

Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra state has promised the people of the state of his undiluted supports for farmers to ensure bountiful harvest this season.

Willie who said his vision for agriculture would make the state self-sufficient in food, while declaring the farming season open at Otuocha, Anambra East Local Area.

He promised the people of the state, that within the four years tenure of his administration, there will be sufficiency in cassava, rice and fish production.

"We would ensure that agriculture contributes at least 40 per cent of the state's Gross Domestic Product."

The governor said his government has attracted over 800 million Dollars investment into the agricultural sector in the past one year.

Based on the successes record in the lasy one year, he believes that the dream of making the state on of the three agricultural state was achievable.
