The Kenyan Government has expressed its readiness to enter into a bilateral relationship with Nigeria on agric-tourism to strengthen business relationship.
Mrs Phoebe Owuor, a representative of Kenyan Government, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the ongoing 2015 Lagos International Trade Fair on Tuesday in Lagos.
She said that several steps had been taken to that effect, but the agreement was yet to be signed.
“Nigeria is a commercial hub in West Africa; such partnering will enhance trade relationship between the two countries.
“It will also strengthen tourism and business working relations, ” Owuor said.
According to her, Kenya makes its huge Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) basically from tourism, fish and agriculture farming.
“Kenya major in tea farming, It is fast selling across the globe which is gaining global recognition.
“The tea is medicinal and has lots of health benefits.
“Part of the benefit is that it helps to purify the blood, makes one younger and cleanse the blood system, ” she said.
The project manager said that Kenya had enormous potential in tourism and agriculture that could be showcased to the world.
Owuor urged Nigeria to embrace tourism and trade relations with Kenya for national development. (NAN)
